League Team Selection & Match Day Guidelines
Team Selection
• The 1st Team will receive first pick, ensuring the 2nd Team has enough bowlers for the game format, including a wicket-keeper.
• Teams will be posted by Thursday evening.
• The Spond availability deadline is Wednesday at 7pm, or when nets finish (whichever is later).
Communication & Changes
• No ad-hoc changes to teams can be made without discussing them with the captains.
* Selected u18 youth players should be informed (by the captain of the team selecting them) via an appropriate guardian either by the relevant online channel (eg whatsapp/spond) or if appropriate directly by phone once selection has been published.
Selection Considerations
Selection decisions will take into account:
• Attendance at team practice sessions (where applicable)
• Consistency of availability
• Timekeeping – players are expected to arrive at the ground at the time set by their captain
• Commitment to team values and ethic
• Attitude and conduct, both on and off the pitch
• Payment of subscriptions and match fees
On-Field Decisions
• Batting and bowling orders are decided solely by the captain.
Player Development
• At times, a balance is needed between meeting team performance goals and developing younger players by giving them
greater responsibility.
