Pavillions Progress

(otherwise known as)

SCHOOL PIECE NEWS

January 10th, 2006

All,

At the recent committee meeting some members were asking how they could get more involved with the new-field project.
A quick update on the pavilion:

The three portacabins have been knocked through into one building. The roof over it is almost complete. The balcony has its frame up and awaits the planking to go down.

The remaining work is basically skilled or semi-skilled: electrics, plumbing including showers and boiler, kitchen fitting, sewer work, a little ground work, decoration. All this has been 'subbed out' to skilled volunteers who are not charging for their services.

Tthe work on the pavilion is, therefore, largely allocated.

There are, however, several jobs which need doing for the field to be ready for cricket next year. These include:

Completing the car park (this will be a spring job under the direction of 'Phil Brown the builder').

If anyone wants to take on any particular job please contact either myself or Pete Jones.

If you wish to see the progress that has been made, or if you have a couple of hours to spare, again contact Pete or
myself. Pete is down there most days and would appreciate a little help - even if it is something simple like clearing the rubbish from the pavilion.

Cheers,
Phil
