Match Report

Thanks for coming:

We got off to a really good start today. Bowling out Horley for 152 is very impressive against a team who score a lot of runs. Highlights of the innings were Dave Harris bowling straight and quick, picking up 4 deserved wickets. Andy Mac bowled like a dream for only one wicket and Pete Whitfield kept sharply, 3 catches behind. Alas one more needed for a jug.

The wicket seemed pretty good so we fancied our chances. But we were soon 35 for 8! Can't really explain what happened. Only Olly in the top eight got into double figures. Duds and Dave put on 34 for the last wicket but it was all too late as they muttered their way back to the Queens.

The early season optimism has gone...we've forgotten how to bat...but it'll be all right.
