Eynsham vs. Hook Norton June 26th 2005

In a friendly match Hook Norton defeated Eynsham by 7 wickets.

Eynsham won the toss and decided to bat. A steady opening partnership put on 18 runs before Fin Bibby was caught behind for 6. Alex Howells and Liam Rainbow then put on another 47 runs before Liam was out for 16 and Alex retired on 19. At the point when runs were needed there was a mid innings collapse with the last 5 overs producing only 6 runs for the loss of another 4 wickets. Eynsham closed their innings at 71 for 7.

Hook Norton reached their target for the loss of only 3 wickets in the 17th over. Michael Barker made an early break through after a good catch by Tom Ford. Michael bowled well with figures of 1-13 off 4 overs. He was supported by James Smith who took 2-14 off 3 overs, both batsmen being clean bowled. Tidy spells from Oliver Howe (0-6) and Liam Rainbow (0-9) kept the batsmen fighting for runs.

After reaching their target Hook Norton batted on to finish on 86-6 with further wickets falling to Christian Drury and Tom Ford and a smart piece of fielding leading to a run out.
