In the first round of the Plate competition Aston Rowant defeated Eynsham by 31 runs.

Aston Rowant won the toss and elected to bat. Michael Barker struck early by clean bowling one of the opening batsmen. Tight bowling by Michael (1-16) and Christian Drury (0-17) kept Aston Rowant batsmen in check but gradually the batsmen got on top and they finished with 108 for 4 off their 20 overs. The other wicket taker was Tom Ford (1-11) although the credit must be given to Finn Bibby for a smart stumping.

In reply Eynsham produced their best batting display of the season reaching 77 for 7. Some good shots were played by Christian Drury (12), James Smith (10) and Dominic Coe (12). An undefeated partnership by Oliver Richardson (11 n.o.) and Tom Ford (13 n.o.) put on 29 runs at ‘a run a ball’ before running out of overs.
