Thanks for coming: No-one (a hat-trick!)
We went into this game looking for a third straight victory. Hopes were high but the mood was dented massively by the news that Steve Laudat wasn't available. No-one is really sure how that happened but 10 men against a strong Horley batting line up was not a good sign.
But... Els made his second return to the first team and capped it with a fine 48 runs. Olly banged 40 before running himself out in a mix up with Els and again the middle and lower order all contributed to the setting process. Mention has to be made here of an ENORMOUS six by Heeeeeeeed. It was Mahussive. Freddie Flintoff has nothing on this boy.
But we reckoned it was a bit of a short total and to be honest Brill batted very well.
It was impossible for Olly to set a field. You move one man and then they hit it in the gap just created.
All of our bowlers went for more than 5 an over. Junior bagged a couple of wickets with some turn and Pete Whitfield took a good catch and a really sharp stumping, but we would probably have been beaten with 11 men.
